Walk Around Fruit Parfait

Make breakfast and snack time easy with this quick to make fruit parfait!

Fruit is so refreshing, especially when layered with fruit, granola and nuts in a parfait. It’s basically a case of layering your favorite ingredients into a clear glass or plastic covered tumbler to take along with you to work, or to eat right now. I like to change it up trying different nuts with different fruits along with my favorite granola and yogurt. I get all kinds of nutrients and vitamins all in one easy meal.

A parfait is a delicious meal or snack to show off with all its layers of colors of fruit and nuts. Think about how the colors contrast as you’re assembling it. The better it looks, the better it will be (especially for the kids to accept), with all its nutritiousness.

The granola is the easiest – I like to include my favorite maple pecan granola. It’s not too sweet, and I add more pecans or almonds to give it more crunch. Vanilla yogurt goes with any flavors, but you might want to mix a different yogurt flavor in your own parfait. Fruits are easy to include since we are able to purchase just about any fruit at any time of the year. A variety of fruits add pretty colors and delicious flavors, too. You choose your favorites!

Eat your parfait right away or rubber band the top with plastic wrap to take to work or to enjoy on a walk.

Choose a clear glass tumbler or tall plastic glass.

Gather your Ingredients:

½ C Yogurt, vanilla

½ C Granola, Maple Pecan

¼ C Almonds, slivered

3 Strawberries

½ C Blueberries

Pinch of Cinnamon

Layer your Parfait:

- Place a few blueberries in the bottom of the glass.

- Split the yogurt and granola between layers of fruit. That way you’ll get savory and sweet mixed in every mouthful. It’s a fruity festival of flavors.

- Top it with yogurt (or whipped topping) and a blueberry.

- Next to the top fruit, lay on a small Red Velvet Biscotti cookie. (Watch for that recipe coming to my blog soon.)

Make parfaits ahead the night before so they are ready for breakfast. Or make them before you leave for work and enjoy one when you take a break, as an energy booster. It’s all about making delicious meals, snacks and “Baking your own Memories!”
