Red White Blue Popcorn for the 4th Fireworks!

Celebrate with Red, White, and Blue Popcorn for your 4th of July Get Together!

This is a yummy and super quick and easy snack to make for your family Independence Celebration or any summer picnic. Just pop your own popcorn or bring home your favorite from the grocery store. Make it any flavor, salt and butter, dill pickle, hot and spicy…the sky is the limit. Melt red and blue candy wafers.

Drizzle over your popcorn and cover with holiday sprinkles, add popcorn, caramel corn, dried fruit, chocolate chips, M&Ms or any other treat you like to add. Make it as yummy as you like.

Enjoy it around the campfire, at a picnic or outdoors with the 4th of July Fireworks celebration. Or, even watching an outdoor movie on your patio.

Add or subtract whatever additions you and your friends and family enjoy most…chocolate mini candy bars, gummy bears, Dots, caramels, Mints, Mike & Ikes, potato chips…the sky is the limit.

There are so many flavors in this delicious popcorn mix – sweet candy and chips, salt, and a fruity tart flavor. Yummm!

Gather your Ingredients:

Popcorn to fill your BIG serving bowl or basket

½ C Red candy wafer melts

½ C Blue candy wafer melts

½ C Peanuts

½ C Dried fruit (blueberries, cranberries, etc.)

½ C M&Ms, red, white blue

1 t Sprinkles, red, white blue

½ C White chocolate chips

Pop and Mix:

-Pop enough popcorn to fill your big serving bowl, but place the popcorn in a large baking pan. Add butter and salt if you like. Sweet and savory is a great combination.

-Melt the red and blue candy wafers in separate small bowls in your microwave. Follow directions on the wafer package.

-Drizzle the red and blue candy wafers over the popcorn in the baking pan. Or, drizzle the red over half of the popcorn and the blue over the half of the popcorn. You don’t need to use all the melted candy wafers.

-Add the peanuts, M&Ms, dried fruit, sprinkles and white chocolate chips while the melted candy wafers are still wet.

-Allow all to dry and break up and pour into large serving bowl or individual bowls.

-Enjoy!

Storage:

I store this wonderfully delicious concoction in a large tin in a cool dry spot, serving it the same day I make it. Depending on your humidity and hot weather, it could last another day.

Whatever additions you make to your popcorn, enjoy it with your besties, and “Bake your own Memories!”
